  •  The company has signed a collaboration agreement with apadrinaunolivo.org to recover around 100 olive trees.

NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and document delivery company, has signed an agreement with Apadrinaunolivo.org, a unique project for the recovery of thousands of century-old olive trees, to support the organisation in its mission to conserve natural heritage and revive the economy of disappearing towns and villages.

Under the agreement, NACEX will have an olive grove consisting of 83 olive trees. This partnership, in line with SDGs 10, 11, 13, 15, and 17, is part of the company's CSR strategy, which aims to meet the environment’s needs by making a positive contribution to society and the environment.

Apadrinaunolivo.org began in 2014 in Oliete, a municipality in Teruel which has seen its population fall from 2,500 to 480 inhabitants in the last 100 years. To combat the consequences of rural depopulation on the region's territory and economy, this charity initiative launched a model of social and environmental entrepreneurship that involves society and companies in the revitalisation of rural areas.

In this way, Apadrinaunolivo.org is focused on custody of the territory and the natural heritage; the generation of opportunities for people in social and labour exclusion and with disabilities, and sustainable rural development, through the sponsorship of olive trees and the production of olive oil.

"Rural depopulation is one of the great challenges we face as a country. More and more municipalities are at risk of depopulation and this not only puts the people who continue to live there in difficulty, but is also a threat to their cultural and natural heritage," says Arianne Muñoz, Marketing Director at NACEX. "Knowing this, we could not stand idly by and we will therefore collaborate with Apadrinaunolivo.org in line with our commitment to the environment and the communities in which we operate."

Alberto Alfonso Pordomingo, President and Co-Founder of Apadrinaunolivo.org, adds: "This collaboration agreement not only demonstrates the synergies that should be created between projects like ours and companies committed to changing reality but, on this tenth anniversary and thanks to the collaboration of NACEX, also proves we are closer to the goal of reaching 10,000 sponsorships in 2024. Because change in the rural world is possible, exciting, but a challenge that can only be overcome by everyone together".

NACEX has a firm commitment to sustainability and, therefore, carries out strategic alliances to minimise the environmental impact of its activities and contribute to the economic, social, and cultural development of the country.
