  • The distribution company has participated the Fundación Créate initiative that brought together more than 5,000 young people on 21 April in Madrid

Logista, Europe’s leading distribution company, has participated in the 4th MiniMaratón Madrid organised by the Fundación Créate to promote healthy habits among young people and to support girls undertaking physical activity. The race, held on 21 April in Madrid’s El Retiro Park, brought together more than 5,000 children and young people aged 10 to 17, who enjoyed a day marked by health, sport and solidarity.

Participants ran 4.2 kilometres in a unique event that was brimming with energy. The 4th MiniMaratón Madrid had two categories, one for those aged 10 to 13 and the other for those aged 14 to 17, who competed both individually and in teams from the 51 participating schools. In this year’s edition, the focus was on the importance of girls not giving up physical activity at this age.

Solidarity and inclusion are core values of this initiative. Young runners with special needs took part in the MiniMaratón and all the profits from this youth race will go to educational innovation programmes in state schools.

By participating, Logista supported the objectives of Fundación Créate, to promote the physical and mental health of young people, girls continuing to participate in sport, inclusion, solidarity and citizenship in the 2030 agenda.

“We believe it is essential to support healthy habits among young people through sport, focusing especially on motivating girls, who often cease physical activity at an early age. We therefore support this excellent initiative promoted by the Fundación Créate. This further deepens our commitment as a socially-responsible company,” said Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo, Logista’s HR, Marketing and Communications Director.
