- The NACEX.shop network has more than 4,000 convenience points in Spain and Portugal, 30% more than in 2023 More and more users are choosing nearby shops and lockers to collect online purchases, with an increase of 47% in 2024
Driven by the need to move towards a more sustainable, convenient, and flexible eCommerce, Out of Home (OOH) deliveries are one of the major trends in last-mile delivery. In this regard, NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and document delivery company, handled 55% more shipments through its network of NACEX.shop convenience points in 2024.
Specifically, 47% more consignees chose to pick up their online purchases at a NACEX.shop point as their first delivery option last year and returns using this method increased by 53%. Furthermore, the increase was even more significant during two critical campaigns, Black Friday and Christmas, with an 83.82% increase in shipments compared to the previous year.
The NACEX.shop network, made up of over 4,000 shops and lockers, 30% more than in 2023, provides consignees with an easy way to pick up and return their online purchases. The consequence is an enhanced shopping experience that, for e-commerce, results in more sales and a greater ability to attract and retain customers. The key to this is great coverage in Spain and Portugal, and long opening hours, even at weekends in many cases, guaranteeing availability.
At the same time, NACEX.shop is a sustainable solution that helps to minimise CO2 emissions and improve coexistence between neighbours, businesses, and delivery drivers, by grouping shipments and reducing last-mile journeys. In 2024, the increase in activity for this service resulted in savings of nearly 190 tonnes of CO2e.
“As these figures show, consumers are increasingly trusting this other delivery method as an alternative to home delivery for picking up and returning their online purchases. A positive trend that produces a positive impact on the environment and reinforces our commitment to sustainability in our activity. We trust that this modality will be maintained in the future, and for that reason, we will continue working to expand our network.", explains Xavier Calvo, Business Development Director at NACEX.
