  • The company has handed over to the association four pallets of food collected at an event held at its regional office in Alcorcón, which was attended by Eva Imbernón, HR Manager and head of the social area at Logista and José Ángel Armada Sarria, the delegate in Alcorcón of the Madrid Food Bank Foundation.

Logista, one of Europe’s largest logistics operators, presented its collaboration with the Madrid Food Bank Foundation (FBAM) at an event held at the NGO’s Southern Metropolitan Office in Alcorcón (Madrid), where more than 770kg of basic necessities collected on four pallets by the company were delivered. The event was attended by Eva Imbernón, HR Manager and head of the social area at Logista and José Ángel Armada Sarria, FBAM’s delegate in Alcorcón.

This action is part of Logista’s collaboration with the foundation, which aims to raise awareness and promote solidarity in society to alleviate the lack of resources, especially for people in situations of social exclusion.

Thus, through Logista Parcel, the leading network in temperature-controlled capillary transport, the company helps to distribute FBAM goods alongside the Olvidados association, to deliver basic foodstuffs from its central warehouses at the San Fernando School to the various soup kitchens throughout Madrid.

Logista also participates in the annual “Big Collection” campaign that the 54 food banks conduct nationwide in supermarkets in Spain. This collaboration consists of helping to move food from where it is is donated to its central warehouses.

Eva Imbernón, HR Manager and head of the social area at Logista highlighted during the award ceremony the fact that: “At Logista we are convinced of the importance of supporting projects that help people in vulnerable situations, so as to create a more united and supportive community. We have been collaborating with Madrid Food Bank Foundation for many years, which demonstrates our firm commitment to fighting poverty and to reaching the goal of zero hunger.”

José Ángel Armada Sarria, the Alcorcón delegate of the Madrid Food Bank Foundation, said: “The FBAM and its Southern Metropolitan Office thank Logista, its management and its staff for this important collaboration, which helps us to supply basic food baskets to the most vulnerable population of the Madrid Region.”
