Ambient and controlled temperature transport company Integra2 will altruisticly cooperate in distributing food products collected in supermarkets and markets throughout Catalonia and the Seville province in connection with food collection charity campaigns. These charity actions will take place on November 25th and 26th as part of the Seville Food Bank first edition and the “Great food collection in Catalonia” campaign third edition.

The third edition of the charity campaign in Catalonia is aimed at collecting 800,000 Kg. of long-lasting basic food products throughout Catalonia during November 25th and 26th, thanks to citizen’s cooperation and the involvement by more than 7,000 volunteers. The campaign, organized by the Food Bank Foundation and La Caixa Foundation, will enable 600 picking points in 180 towns in Catalonia. Online donations of food products may also be made through the website www.bancdelsaliments.org. The campaign is aimed at responding to food urgencies from needed people in Catalonia, a group which due to the economic crisis has significantly grown. It is estimated that near 1.5 million people in Catalonia currently live in an extreme poverty situation.

Meanwhile, the Seville Food Bank Foundation organizes for the first time a large food collection campaign aimed at responding to food urgencies from needed people in the province of Seville. The Great Food Collection in Seville is also aimed at raising awareness on these people’s situation, which has grown due to the economic crisis. The campaign is aimed at collecting 150,000 Kg. of long-lasting nutritious food products from 150 supermarkets throughout the province’s main cities and through online donations at www.bancodealimentosdesevilla.org. Is is estimated that close to 100,000 people currently live in extreme poverty (less than €8 daily) in Seville. Since 2008, the amount of people asking the Food Bank for help has doubled

Part of both campaign’s transport and logistics will be carried out by Integra2, which altruisticly will collect the food products at supermarkets and markets in Catalonia and the Seville province to distribute them among the charity entities supporting final beneficiaries. “Our drivers and staff at warehouses in Barcelona and Seville have very positively welcomed the initiative to take part in the charity action. Integra2’s commitment will lead us to provide the vehicles and people needed to secure that the products donated at the more than 750 picking points are transported to both Food Bank foundations classifying points in Barcelona and Seville”, says Óscar López, marketing manager at Integra2
