Integra2, the ambient and controlled temperature transport company, has altruisticly distributed 1,151 tons of food products: 1,095 for the “Great food collection in Catalonia” and 56 tons for the Seville Food Bank. Both charity campaigns took place on November 25th and 26th 2011. 

The third edition of the charity campaign in Catalonia collected 1,095 tons of long-lasting basic food products throughout Catalonia during November 25th and 26th and exceeded all expectations. Integra2 was responsible of the logistics and transportation for the campaign, organized by the Food Bank Foundation and La Caixa Foundation. The transport company collected the food products at supermarkets and markets and distributed them among the charity entities supporting final beneficiaries. 

The “Great food collection in Catalonia” campaign is aimed at responding to food urgencies from needed people in Catalonia, a group which due to the economic crisis has significantly grown. It is estimated that near 1.5 million people in Catalonia currently live in an extreme poverty situation. 

Meanwhile, Integra2 distributed 56 tons of food products for the the Seville Food Bank Foundation, which organized for the first time a large food collection campaign aimed at responding to food urgencies from needed people in the province of Seville. The Great Food Collection in Seville was also aimed at raising awareness on these people’s situation, which has grown due to the economic crisis. The campaign collectied long-lasting nutritious food products from 150 supermarkets throughout the province’s main cities. It is estimated that close to 100,000 people currently live in extreme poverty (less than €8 daily) in Seville. Since 2008, the amount of people asking the Food Bank for help has doubled
