  • It qualifies into the CDP’s “A List” with only 193 companies worldwide
  • The “A List” has been produced at the request of 827 investors with assets of US$100 trillion

Logista has been recognized as one of the corporate climate change global leaders.

The company has been included in the exclusive group of 193 companies worldwide in the “A List” made by CDP, the international not-for-profit organization thousands of companies submit environmental information to for its independent assessment.

CDP works mandated by 827 institutional investors with assets exceeding US$100 trillion, to motivate companies to disclose their impacts on the environment and natural resources as well as encouraging them to take action to reduce them.

Just 9% of thousands of corporations participating in CDP’s climate change program have been awarded a position on the “A List”, in recognition of its actions to reduce emissions and mitigate climate change in the past reporting year.

The information reported to CDP includes both that related to corporate actions and strategies and that of every Group’s company, assessing the actions and improvements implemented in recent years and therefore extending the recognition to all of them. Also, the recognition awards the Logista Group’s effort and evolution and sets it as a model and benchmark company for participant organizations in the CDP Program.

The Logista Group is calculating since the fiscal year 2013 the carbon footprint of every business and service in the different countries where it operates, including the Group’s outsourced activities, as those by outsourced transport vehicles. This calculation, based on internationally recognized rules and standards, is verified under the UNE-EN ISO 14064 standard by an independent audit entity, ratifying the figures and assuring the process reliability and traceability.

Logista has cut its direct emissions by 7.3% and by 43% the emissions derived from electric consumption between fiscal years 2013 and 2015, the latest with externally verified and certified information, equivalent to a combined reduction of 6,135 Tm of CO2e in two fiscal years.

Also, during the recently completed fiscal year over 90% of the Group’s facilities, including every Group directly managed center in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal has been supplied with 100% renewable-produced electricity, fostering the demand of clean energy and preventing the emission of over 15,700Tm of CO2e every year, equivalent to the fixing function of 27,000 trees and to the annual electrical consumption of over 16,000 households.

The Climate A List is released in CDP’s “Out of the starting blocks: Tracking progress on corporate climate action” report. The report establishes the baseline for corporate climate action and reveals that global corporations have started the transition to a low-carbon economy and some are already capitalizing on the opportunities this strategy affords. Companies’ progress on reducing emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement will be tracked against this baseline in future annual reports.

The A List, along with the scores of all companies taking part in CDP’s climate change program, is available on the organization’s website (www.cdp.net).

CDP, formerly Carbon Disclosure Project, is an international, not-for-profit organization providing the global system for companies, cities, states and regions to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. Thousands of companies disclosed environmental information through CDP in 2015. CDP now holds the most comprehensive collection globally of corporate environmental data and puts these insights at the heart of strategic business, investment and policy decisions.
