In recent days, the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (Spain’s competition supervisor) has conducted an inspection at Logista’s office in Leganés, within an investigation on possible anti-competition practices in the cigarettes manufacturing, distribution and commercialization market.

Logista declares that:

The Company has provided full cooperation with the Competition Authorities’ inspectors during its action and will continue to do so.

According to current legislation, retail prices of the different tobacco products are set by its respective manufacturers, who make them known to the Tax Authorities and the Comisionado para el Mercado de Tabacos (Spain’s tobacco market supervisor), and later published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (Official State Gazette).

It does not correspond to Logista, therefore, as a licensed wholesaler distributor of tobacco, to determine the retail prices of the tobacco products it distributes.

These inspections are just a preliminary step in the process of investigating the alleged anti-competition conducts in the industry and do not prejudge the outcome of the investigation.

However, Logista wants to make clear that it has not carried out any anti-competition conduct nor has any relationship with the alleged aforementioned activities subject to investigation and that it has always acted fully observant to current legislation in carrying out its operations.
