  • The Logista Group’s parcel and express courier firm has achieved this recognition for the sustainable criteria applied to the design, operation and maintenance of its largest platform, located in Coslada (Madrid).

NACEX’s platform at Coslada (Madrid) has achieved the LEED GOLD certification, recognizing buildings incorporating sustainable and high efficiency criteria in its operations. The platform at Coslada, recently opened, is NACEX’s largest and the largest cross docking platform built in Spain in the last decade.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification allows assessing the most sustainable buildings throughout the world, by using objective guidelines and quantifiable parameters. The certification is granted by the United States Green Building Council, an entity with the aim of promoting strategies improving the environmental impact of the building industry.

Achieving the LEED GOLD certification acknowledges the environmental methodologies and strategies used in the NACEX platform in Coslada, regarding energy efficiency and water consumption, the use of clean energies, the improvement of the environmental quality inside the building, the selection of materials and the premises’ waste management.

The benefits of a building designed following LEED certification guidelines are multiple. Among them, it allows to reduce operating costs, with 30%-50% savings in energy; the increase in occupiers’ productivity, thanks to greater quality of inhabitable areas and the reduction of the building’s environmental impact.

NACEX keeps a commitment to permanent environmental improvement of its processes, expanding the concept of service quality by integrating its activity’s environmental sustainability. The firm already calculates and verifies the Carbon Footprint of its deliveries, and puts this information at the disposal of its clients on an individual basis.

NACEX actively participates in the Quality and Environmental Strategic Plan of the Logista Group, the only European distributor included for the third consecutive year in CDP’s “A List” as one of the global leaders fighting climate change after assessing data from nearly 7,000 companies worldwide. Logista is one of the 4 Spanish companies and 126 worldwide in the “A List”, adding to its recognition as “CDP Supplier Leader 2018”.
