NACEX, the Logista Group parcel and express courier firm, celebrates the first anniversary of its platform at Coslada (Madrid), the largest cross-docking platform built in Spain over the last decade.

Throughout this first year, the platform has managed and classified an average of 42,000 packages and 31,000 bags every day. It has further processed 128,927 Pharma deliveries between October 2018 and June 2019.

“Building the Coslada platform was a great challenge for us. A challenge completed with excellent results and the satisfaction of having a premise allowing us to secure the commitments to our clients, one of our core priorities. It has also proved us right in deciding for the area, located close to the capital and the Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas airport”, says Manel Orihuela, Deputy General Manager at NACEX.

On a plot exceeding 23,000 m2, NACEX’s platform at Coslada has a 12,140 m2 warehouse for sorting and distributing merchandises and a 1,500 m2 two-storey office building for administrative tasks. The platform has 114 docks, 104 for vans and 10 for trucks, allowing for simultaneously loading and unloading over 110 vehicles.

In order to secure the commitments to its clients, the premise has the latest advances in recording, traceability and security technologies. Among them, a Videocoding sorting system allowing to detect unread or mistaken labels; 153 FullHD digital cameras, 13 of which are capable of 360° recording, besides temperature-controlled chamber and pre-chamber specially designed for the Pharma industry; and a sorting system capable of hourly processing up to 32,000 packages and 464 sorting ramps.

The platform was built taking into account the highest quality standards, both when designing it as well as in selecting materials, leading to achieving the LEED Gold energy certification by the United States Green Building Council.
