  • Scoring more than 80%, Logista is above average among the companies in its sector included in the ranking.

Logista, a leading Southern European distribution company, has been included as a member of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index 2023 (GEI), an index developed to measure the performance of publicly traded companies who report gender-related matters. This benchmark index measures gender equality across five areas: leadership and talent development, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies and brand image. The index includes 483 global companies, of which 23 are Spanish.

Logista has been included in the Industrials category, where it achieved an overall score of 80.51%, above the average achieved in this category (around 70%). It also beats average achieved by Spanish companies included in the GEI, which stands at almost 77%.

“The people who make up Logista are the driver that guarantees the company’s results and growth. Safety, talent development, diversity and inclusion are the cornerstones of the people strategy at Logista, which is why I am very proud of the projects we are running to meet our commitment to equal opportunities,” said Iñigo Meirás, Chief Executive Officer of Logista.

During the 2022 financial year, Logista made numerous efforts to make further progress in the area of equality and diversity, including the launch of the “Leadership and Inclusive Environments” training programme, which is designed to give managers and directors a deeper understanding of the needs and situation of the people in their teams, and the implementation of the “Empowering Women Talent” programme to promote the professional development of women at Logista.

These new initiatives come on top of to those already implemented in recent years, such as the fact that 50% of finalist candidates in selection processes are women; the inclusion of specific plans to guarantee professional development opportunities for female talent; or the inclusion of equality and diversity goals in the variable remuneration objectives of the company’s managers and CEO.

The GEI 2023, which is global in scope, encompasses 45 countries and regions and, for the first time this year, it includes year companies based in Luxembourg, Ecuador and Kuwait. Member companies represent a wide range of sectors, primarily finance, technology and utilities, which continue to account for the majority of companies in the index from 2022.

“We congratulate the companies included in the 2023 GHG,” said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. “We continue to see an increase in both interest and membership globally, reflecting the shared goal of transparency in gender-related metrics.”

Inclusion in the index places Logista among globally leading companies in terms of disclosure, compliance and adoption of the best gender equality statistics and policies.
