- BPS specialises in the urgent distribution of pharmaceutical products in Belgium and Luxembourg.
- The acquisition allows Logista to expand its Nacex and Speedlink operations and reinforces its position in the Benelux region.
Madrid, 2 January 2024.- Logista, one of the top logistics companies in Europe, has announced the acquisition of Belgium Parcels Service (BPS), a company specialising in the urgent distribution of pharmaceutical products in Belgium and Luxembourg. This strategic acquisition represents an important milestone in Logista’s expansion in Europe and strengthens its position in pharmaceutical distribution, as well as the courier segment.
BPS provides 24-hour courier services in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as 24- and 48-hour services in the Netherlands, France and Germany. The Belgian company specialises in the distribution of sensitive products, mainly controlled-temperature pharmaceuticals, to hospitals and pharmacies.
This transaction complements the acquisition of Speedlink Worldwide Expres (Speedlink) in 2022, which represented Logista’s entry into the Dutch market, as the country with the highest number of B2B distribution centres in Europe. The current transaction, along with that of Speedlink, gives Logista access to the entire Benelux region, thus expanding its presence in Central Europe.
BPS, active in the logistics market for over twenty-five years, operates a 3,500sqm warehouse and makes around 700,000 deliveries per year. The acquisition of 100% of the company[1] has been carried out for a sum close to €8 million, subject to a complete audit of its accounts for 2023.
This acquisition is part of the strategic plan that Logista initiated two years ago, focused on geographical and business diversification through transactions that leverage synergies, improve its market position, and expand its business to new European markets.
Íñigo Meirás, CEO of Logista, explained: “This strategic operation allows us to increase our exposure to the Pharma Courier segment in a key region within Europe. In addition, the acquisition complements the core business of our Nacex operations.”
Carlos García-Mendoza, Corporate Strategy Director of Logista, added: “This acquisition strengthens our inorganic growth strategy by broadening Nacex’s business internationally, thanks to a specialised distributor with similar quality and service criteria.”
[1] The transaction was made through the acquisition of 100% of the shares of 3 For One SA, the parent company of Belgium Parcels Service SRL.
