  • After its acquisition of Carbó Collbatallé, the company now has 85 branches, more than 220 temperature-controlled chambers in a multi-temperature environment, 1,900 temperature-controlled vehicles and more than 29,000 frozen storage pallets.
  • Moreover, the digitalisation of processes, the integration with customers and the creation of interfaces between the various TMSs will be the cornerstones of growth in the coming months.

Logista, one of Europe’s largest logistics operators, has become a key player in cold logistics in the food sector. This sector shows demand for companies capable of managing goods with short expiry dates and which require maintenance of the cold chain, while guaranteeing the quality of the product, with limited storage times for fresh products and high investments in logistics structure (chambers, prechambers, sheltered loading and unloading docks and a versatile refrigerated fleet in terms of size and suitable thermal environments).

Logista not only has the precise know-how regarding the channel and the treatment of perishable products, but is also committed to expanding the network, increasing the geographical coverage, capillarity and the quality of its services on the mainland and islands.

Now, in acquiring Carbó Collbatallé, the company has expanded its logistics structure to refrigerated and frozen temperatures for the food sector, with a total of 85 branches coordinated in 17 transit platforms. It also has more than 220 temperature-controlled chambers in a multi-temperature environment, 1,900 temperature-controlled vehicles and more than 29,000 frozen storage pallets, which comprise the best proposal for B2B deliveries to the food channel in Spain and Portugal.

On the other hand, it has two professionalised networks for training staff and drivers in safety and handling, in which more than 2,400 employees work.

“Logista Parcel is the leading temperature-controlled capillary network in Spain and Portugal, offering specialised services in the perishable food sector. By integrating the Carbó Collbatallé network, it is promoting synergies between the different routes and operational processes, which will allow Logista to differentiate, if possible, the services it offers dedicated to a sector, the cold food sector, which offers very favourable growth expectations”, highlighted Pablo Rebollo, Managing Director of Logista Parcel, Nacex and Carbó Collbatallé.

Moreover, the company offers quality and safety guarantees through food safety certifications such as ISO 22000, among others, that demonstrate the quality of the service. This, together with the digitalisation of processes, integration with customers and the creation of interfaces between the various TMSs will be the cornerstones of its growth in the coming months.

Finally, the technological migration to Logista’s IT infrastructure, sustainability, data integration and quality systems will facilitate the development of the refrigerated and frozen transport and logistics businesses.
