- Emilio Butragueño and Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo renew the agreement between Logista and the Real Madrid Foundation at Ciudad Real Madrid.
Sport and logistics come together once again to promote the integration of children with disabilities. The collaboration between Logista and the Real Madrid Foundation is once again taking to the field for another year to jointly promote the socio-sports project carried out at the Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza children's home run by APANID (Asociación de Padres y Amigos de Niños Diferentes - Association of Parents and Friends of Different Children). This agreement reinforces the work of the Real Madrid Foundation with the children's homes run by the Regional Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid.
The APANID project allows young people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy sport as a means of integration and personal development. Thanks to this alliance, Logista will continue to support the Real Madrid Foundation's football and basketball at APANID’s home for young people so that it can continue to grow and achieve its aims.
Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, presented the partnership for the sustainability of this socio-sports programme. Enrique Sánchez, Executive Vice-President of the Real Madrid Foundation, and Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo, Director of HR, Marketing and Communication at Logista, signed the renewal of the agreement at Ciudad Real Madrid.
Guajardo-Fajardo stressed that "sport teaches essential values on and off the field and that is why we are extending our collaboration with Real Madrid, which is the best possible partner for this. We are proud to continue promoting the integration of children with disabilities".
Butragueño explained: "For more than 15 years we have been promoting sport for people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities to guarantee equal opportunities in access to quality educational sport".
APANID’s socio-sports school for people with intellectual disabilities in Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza residential home for minors began their activities with the Real Madrid Foundation in 2023 and form part of the foundation’s projects for attention to diversity, in addition to the nine football schools and six basketball schools in thirteen residential care centres for minors, where the foundation has been working on a weekly basis for more than 15 years, using sport with values as a means of social integration.
