  • The Coslada hub is one of the most advanced logistics centres in Europe for the distribution of temperature-controlled healthcare products.
  •  The members of the Commission were given a guided tour of the facilities, which allowed them to get a close look at the traceability, safety, security, and temperature control systems that guarantee the quality of the NACEXpharma service.

The Laboratories Commission of the Spanish Private Healthcare Alliance (ASPE - Alianza de la Sanidad Privada Española) held its latest meeting at the NACEX logistics centre in Coslada, one of the most advanced hubs in Europe for temperature-controlled healthcare distribution.

During the day, the members of the Commission - Fernando Echevarne, Luis Mendicuti, Rainiero Holgado, Clara Martínez Gaite, and Jorge Fernández - were welcomed by Manel Orihuela, General Director of NACEX, who accompanied the group on a guided tour of the facilities. Furthermore, ASPE President, Carlos Rus, also attended the visit to see how the facilities work at first hand.

Jorge Araujo, NACEX Platform Director; Juan Ramón Domínguez, NACEX Commercial Network Director, and Rakel Ramos, Northern Area Director and Healthcare & Pharma Coordinator, were also present and gave the attendees a full presentation on the hub's operational, technological, and traceability capabilities.

Throughout the tour, attendees were able to see the traceability, safety, security, and temperature control systems implemented by NACEX close up, as well as the specialised areas for the transport of sensitive pharmaceutical products. The visit made checking the operation of the automated classification system, the temperature-controlled storage areas, and the logistical processes that guarantee compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) in situ possible.

NACEXpharma, NACEX's specialised service for distribution to the healthcare sector, offers urgent shipments with strict temperature control using its Pharma Box packaging in the ranges of 2-8 °C and 15-25 °C, ensuring traceability and compliance with Good Distribution Practices. This service is aimed at pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and clinical trials, and can count on more than 210 temperature-controlled vehicles and 44 climate-controlled areas.

"At NACEX, we have a strong commitment to the healthcare industry. We are aware of their needs and adapt to them, but we are never satisfied. We strive for excellence and, therefore, we want to go further and anticipate changes in the market. To this end, we are committed to continuous innovation, both in terms of processes and services. This meeting has allowed us to show our endeavours to ASPE and its partners," explained Manuel Orihuela, General Director of NACEX.

The Coslada hub was inaugurated in 2018 and is the largest cross-docking infrastructure built in Spain in the last ten years. It has over 23,000 m² of floor space, 114 loading and unloading bays, and a system capable of processing up to 32,000 shipments per hour. It is a strategic cornerstone for the NACEXpharma service.

In addition, the facility has high-level certifications such as TAPA FSR - Level A in logistics safety and LEED Gold in energy efficiency, reinforcing NACEX's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
