- Logista Parcel and Logista Freight are transporting the Hyperloop UPV to various technology fairs in Spain and the Netherlands.
- Hyperloop UPV will present new features such as regenerative braking and integrated chargers to improve efficiency, scalability and sustainability.
The cutting-edge Hyperloop UPV project, developed by a team of engineers from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), continues to take giant steps forward thanks to Logista. Through Logista Parcel and Logista Freight, the company has recently facilitated the transport of the vehicle for its participation at various technology fairs in Barcelona. Moreover, next July Hyperloop UPV will travel to Groningen (Netherlands) to compete in the European Hyperloop Week (EHW) where it is to show a new prototype and announce technical developments.
Through Logista Parcel and Logista Freight, the company will once again support the transport of a new, larger vehicle, which will integrate all these technical advances and once again prove its commitment to a faster, cleaner and more sustainable transport of the future.
In addition, the new prototype will be officially presented in the coming weeks during the 'Premiere', an exclusive event for sponsors at which Logista will once again play a leading role by taking charge of the transportation of the vehicle. This will be followed by a presentation open to the public at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
In April, the team was able to transport the vehicle from Valencia to Barcelona for its presentation at two of the most important trade fairs in the industrial and technological sector: Advanced Factories and Advanced Machine Tools.
Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo, Director of HR, Marketing and Communication at Logista, said: "Logista is proud to continue accompanying the Hyperloop UPV team on its path towards innovation. We are excited to see how Hyperloop UPV grows every year thanks to the fantastic team of young engineers involved in the project and the support of Logista. Their commitment to more efficient and sustainable transport is fully in line with our vision for the future.
Hyperloop incorporates technical innovations
The project is progressing rapidly thanks to the incorporation of advances in the development of the innovative DLIM electric motor, designed in-house. This motor allows an acceleration of 7.26 m/s² - a figure comparable to that of high-end sports cars - and speeds of up to 120 km/h at a weight of 250 kg.
This year, the new prototype of the vehicle has also incorporated two technical advances of great relevance: on the one hand, regenerative braking, which allows energy to be recovered during braking to recharge the batteries; and on the other hand, the integrated chargers, which eliminate the need to remove the batteries for recharging, bringing this disruptive technology closer to a more scalable and functional model.
In addition, track tests have been carried out to optimise the new supercapacitor power system and to verify the correct operation of the vehicle's control boards (PCBs) and sensors. The results have been promising, and the UPV team is now ready to start the engine and continue with the dynamic testing phase.
Hyperloop, known as the fifth mode of transport, combines the speed of air travel - around 1,000 km/h - with the comfort and frequency of rail. The concept is simple: capsules levitate in low-pressure tubes, eliminating surface friction and air through magnetic levitation and a near-vacuum environment.
