- The company launches the first logistics solution in Spain that allows groupage shipments with temperature control from Valencia to the Dominican Republic and Mexico
- This service enables Spanish exporters to use only part of the containers shipped by sea, maintaining the cold chain
- El Mosca Marítimo is already considering expanding this service to Asian markets with high demand for quality food products, such as Japan, China, or Singapore
El Mosca Marítimo, a Logista subsidiary, has launched a pioneering groupage consolidation service in Spain for food products with temperature control, destined for the Dominican Republic and Mexico. This innovative logistics solution, which began operating in October after the warehouse was enabled in June, allows Spanish exporters to ship smaller volumes while maintaining the cold chain throughout the journey.
The service operates from the modern facilities in Alacuás (Valencia), which have 1,600 m² for frozen goods and 1,000 m² for refrigerated goods, from where biweekly shipments depart in 40-foot refrigerated containers. The company is already considering expanding this service to Asian markets with high demand for quality food products, such as Japan, China, or Singapore.
Additionally, this service offers a unique value: the combination of groupage with temperature control throughout the entire logistics process. Unlike full loads, where a single client occupies an entire container, this solution allows the consolidation of goods from different exporters in the same refrigerated container, maintaining optimal preservation conditions from collection at origin to final delivery at destination.
Among the main beneficiaries of this service are hotel chains operating in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. These companies require regular supplies of European food products from various suppliers in Spain, Italy, or France. With this solution, they can make more diversified purchases, in quantities better adjusted to their actual consumption, and with optimized expiration dates.
“This service represents a revolution for Spanish exporters of food products, especially those who do not generate enough volume to fill a container,” explains Juan Cutillas García, International Sales Manager at El Mosca Marítimo. “Until now, these exporters faced great difficulties accessing international markets while maintaining the cold chain, which limited their business opportunities. With our solution, they can now make smaller and more frequent shipments, optimize their inventory management and guarantee product freshness,” concludes Cutillas.
