The second day of the II edition of the Ryder NACEX Tournament pitted the teams of journalists from Barcelona and Madrid against each other in an exciting duel that was decided by a tight score of 12.5 to 11.5 in favour of the Catalan team.
Victory by the Associations of Golf Playing Journalists from Catalonia (“Asociaciones de Periodistas Jugadores de Golf de Cataluña” - ACPJG) signifies revenge after the previous edition, which the Madrid journalists won, and confirms the highly competitive and sporting nature of this encounter.
The tournament was played over two days and was full of twists and turns. On the first day, a partial victory went to the Madrid team by 5 to 3. However, the Catalan team managed to make a comeback on the second and decisive day, played entirely under Match-Play rules, and ended up being victorious, winning by 9.5 to 6.5.
The competition took place at the prestigious El Saler Golf Course in Valencia, in an atmosphere marked by fair play, camaraderie, and harmony among all participants.
NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and document delivery company, was the main sponsor of the tournament, whose support has been key to the consolidation of this competition, which has already become a benchmark event for sports journalism specialised in golf.
As a result, the Association of Journalists from Catalonia claimed victory at the second edition of the tournament and kept a sporting rivalry alive, which promises to produce future editions filled with emotion and sporting spirit. The Spanish Association of Golf Playing Journalists (AEPJG) came away with the victory at the first edition, leaving the score tied for the moment.
