Atlético de Madrid Foundation's Adapted Football School in Arganda del Rey Concludes Its First Season Celebrating the Importance of Inclusion

calendar June 29, 2026

Alberto García Escribano, Mayor of Arganda del Rey; Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo, Logista's Director of Human Resources, Marketing and Communications and the Foundation's main supporter of these schools; and Enrique Cerezo, Club President and Trustee of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation, brought the first season of the Adapted Football School in the municipality to a close by presenting participation certificates to all the players in an emotional ceremony attended by their families.

"For Logista, it is essential to give back to society part of the value generated through our business activity. The company places a strong focus on inclusion, supporting young people with special needs through sport and the values it represents—an area that shares fundamental principles with Logista," said Juan José Guajardo-Fajardo, expressing his satisfaction with the impact of Logista's collaboration across the Atlético de Madrid Foundation's five Adapted Football Schools throughout Spain.

For his part, the President explained: "Today is a very special day for the Foundation because we have the opportunity to conclude this season of our Adapted Football School, whose main objective is to encourage participation in sport and achieve full inclusion. At the Atlético de Madrid Foundation, we know that our adapted football methodology provides the ideal environment to accomplish all these goals."

The players themselves made this clear after receiving their certificates and posing for the traditional group photo. Iván, 26, expressed his pride in being part of the School: "It is a very important challenge for me. I love being part of the School; there is great team spirit and we are like a family. Everything we learn also helps me in my everyday life.". Carlos Alexander, 24, highlighted that "the team helps me a lot. I have great teammates and being part of the School means a great deal to me.". Similarly, Héctor, 18, emphasised that "it is a source of pride. Being part of the School gives me a lot of confidence. There is so much affection among the players, I have a wonderful time, and it also helps me outside football because I feel more rested, more relaxed and enjoy both my home life and my work much more.". Francisco summarised the shared feeling of the group: "I have played for many teams, and being part of the Foundation's School is a dream come true. I am incredibly excited—it is fantastic, a whole different world. I have even had the opportunity to speak with the President. Everything we practise is something we apply in our everyday lives as well: attitude, determination, effort, being a good friend, supporting your teammates and showing respect for others."

Alberto García Escribano, Mayor of Arganda del Rey, could not hide his emotion after hearing the players' testimonies and witnessing their camaraderie: "We have known many of them for years, even since they were children, and they have formed a group that is doing them a tremendous amount of good. Thanks to this initiative, they are gaining opportunities, enjoying leisure activities and pursuing something they are passionate about. Otherwise, some of these young people might not have had the opportunities they have today. It is important not only for them, but also for their families, because it provides a valuable opportunity for respite and work-life balance. I believe it is essential. The programme not only helps them become better players but also better people, through all the values that football teaches. It builds self-esteem and gives them the tools to become more independent. These are young people who lead independent lives, spend time together and actively participate in community life here in Arganda. I believe this programme has played a very important role in that and has been doing so for many years.".

Commitment to Sustainability

Logista has a strong positioning in sustainability matters. This is complemented by other notable ratings from Sustainalytics and MSCI. It has also been recognised for the sixth consecutive year in the Diversity Leaders 2026 ranking by the Financial Times and Statista, with a score of 72.78/100, maintaining leadership in the Wholesale category in Europe for the second year in a row and placing 11th among Spanish companies.

Within this framework, and as a continuation of initiatives promoted in recent years—which remain in force today—Logista continues to expand its partnerships to promote diversity and inclusion. In addition, Logista maintains ongoing collaborations with the Red Cross and other organisations, and runs a volunteering programme with Fundación Integra, which in 2024 recognised the company for its training work after having trained 337 people at risk of social exclusion and with disabilities.
