- NACEX joined the Candela Bracelets initiative involving its collaborators, who have raised €8,622 for the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Barcelona, which has a child cancer research laboratory with a staff exceeding 25 professionals.
NACEX, the Logista Group parcel and express courier firm, has given out €8,622 to the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Barcelona, due to its collaboration with Candela Bracelets, an association devoted to raising funds for researching child cancer. Several groups and entities collaborate today in the creation and distribution of the Candela bracelets: schools, homes for the elderly, associations, companies...
In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility, NACEX joined the association’s initiative, through its Regas Street franchise at Barcelona, involving its collaborators, who made possible raising €8,622 devoted to the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Barcelona, which has a laboratory researching child cancer with a staff exceeding 25 professionals. This cause further proves that NACEX has a team greatly committed to social causes, and we are very proud of them.
There was a celebration last Monday, May 13th with the symbolic hand out of funds raised thanks to NACEX’s participation and that of its franchisees within the charity campaign started in 2018 with Candela Bracelets.
Candela Bracelets for child cancer research
The history of this charity Bracelets started on mid 2013 with Candela, a girl with leukaemia at the San Juan de Dios Hospital. To fill the long hours at the hospital, a volunteer taught Candela to make bracelets with coloured threads. Shortly after, two friends of her had the idea of creating a stop at their village to raise funds for researching child cancer. Since then, people and entities have increasingly joined this movement, which has already raised over €1.5m for researching child cancer at the San Juan de Dios Hospital, which has an specific research laboratory with a staff exceeding 25 professionals.
